Fishbowl — Privacy Policy

Golden Dragon Games ("we", "us") built Fishbowl as a free multiplayer party game. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

What we collect

• Anonymous device identifier — A randomly generated ID stored on your device. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, Google account, or any personal information. It is used solely to reconnect you to an active game session.
• Game data — Room codes, clues you submit, scores, and turn history. This data exists only for the duration of a game session.
• Crash and error diagnostics — When the app crashes or encounters an unexpected error, we collect technical information to help us fix bugs: device model, OS version, app version, the error stack trace, and a short trail of recent in-app navigation events. We do not collect IP addresses, your name, your contacts, or the content of clues you've written. This data is sent only when an error occurs.
• Advertising data (new) — Fishbowl shows banner ads on the welcome and end-of-game screens to support free use of the app. Google AdMob serves these ads and may receive: an advertising identifier (Apple's IDFA on iOS or Google's GAID on Android), your device's IP address, general device information (model, OS version, language), and interactions with ads (impressions, taps). On iOS 14.5 and later, ad tracking only happens if you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, ads still appear but are non-personalized. You can opt out of personalized ads on Android via your device's ad-personalization setting. If you purchase the optional ad-removal upgrade (see below), all ads stop, and no further advertising data is shared.
• Purchase data (new) — If you make an in-app purchase (such as the optional "Remove Ads" upgrade), RevenueCat receives a record of the purchase: the product purchased, when, the platform (Apple or Google), and the anonymous app user ID described above. This is used to validate the purchase and to restore the entitlement on a new device when you sign back in with the same Apple or Google account. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see your credit-card number, billing address, or other payment details.

What we do NOT collect

• Names, email addresses, or account credentials
• Location data
• Contacts, photos, or other device data
• Behavioral or marketing analytics (we do not track which features you use, how long you play, etc.)
• Payment details (credit-card numbers, billing addresses) — these stay with Apple and Google

Third-party services

• Supabase (hosted on AWS) — Game data (room codes, clues, scores) is stored here for the duration of a game session.
• Sentry — When the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, the diagnostic data described above is sent to Sentry so we can identify and fix bugs. Sentry retains this data for up to 30 days. Sentry's privacy policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/
• Google AdMob — Serves the banner advertisements described above. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. To opt out of personalized ads from Google specifically, visit https://adssettings.google.com.
• RevenueCat — Manages in-app purchases (currently the optional "Remove Ads" upgrade). RevenueCat receives the anonymous purchase record described above. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

We do not use behavioral analytics services.

Data retention

• Game session data is automatically deleted after the game ends or becomes inactive.
• The anonymous device identifier is stored locally on your device and can be cleared by uninstalling the app.
• Crash diagnostics are retained by Sentry for up to 30 days, then automatically deleted.
• Advertising and purchase records are retained by Google AdMob and RevenueCat according to their own retention policies, linked above.

Children's privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
